A woman from England named Sarah was invited to visit David Thompson's Circle of the Silver Cord in early February 2007. Using the protocol always followed by David Thompson in his seances, he was bound to the chair and gagged to demonstrate that the voices do not come from him. Then, as those assembled sat waiting, a whispered voice came through. Those who come through often have a "whisper." A whisper is speaking without using the vocal cords. The throat is constricted so air hisses through the pharynx, but the vocal chords don't vibrate. It appears that some on the other side working to project their thoughts into the voice box have difficulty with the vocal chords, so their voices come out in straining whispers.

The sitters asked whom the voice belonged to and he whispered "Nick." Immediately, Sarah realized that it was the spirit of the love of her life who had passed away five months earlier, in August, 2006. Nick and Sarah spoke for a few minutes and he caressed her face between his hands. The audio and transcript of their loving communication are available for you to listen to and read.

About Sarah and Nick

Sarah said to those assembled in the seance:

The love of my life passed into spirit on August 1, 2006. Nick was my first love at aged 15. We grew up in the same town in England. He was five years older, so we went our separate ways when he graduated; we eventually moved to different countries. But through a twist of fate, we met again two years ago. They say the heart remembers, and it certainly did with us, with more passion and love than I had ever thought possible.

The bottom of my world dropped out when he passed over—I searched for answers. I believe he led me here. I continually asked for help and guidance and he gave me that.

My experience in this seance was the greatest gift I could ever have hoped for other than having Nick in my life up until he passed. As Mitch [one of the other sitters] said, "Can you imagine, anywhere in the world right now, anything more miraculous happening other than a child being born?" I for one couldn't.

The reason for sharing this recording is because, for me, hearing recordings of other fortunate people being re-united with loved ones gave me the strength to live when I really didn't want to any more. I have no doubt that it was Nick that spoke to me and held my face. This ultimately proved what I had always hoped: that the bonds of love can never be severed.
